free sFTP server and FTPs server and how to install and use freeftpd server

download freeFTPd server from:
freeFTPd
(only freeFTPd.exe file)
it's a freeware software

install as system service when asked and create private keys too.

open freeFTPd server settings for sftp server:
(any change should be followd by apply & save)

• SFTP tab:change listen address to local ip address or hostname
• SFTP tab:enter port (default 22)
• SFTP tab:(optionally)create greeting files
• SFTP tab:set root folder for the sftp server (if we use a path like this:C:\Program Files\freeFTPd\sftproot


we need to go to freeFTPd folder and create manually sftproot folder)
• SFTP tab:click start to start the service (stop and start again for restart if wanted)
• Hostkey tab:generate one or both RSA and DSA keys according to your needs and locate to the right path or

you can use an existing key by setting the right path pointing to the key(click test to check if the key is valid)
• tab users:click on add button to create a user and afterwards give user properties
• user properties:give login name, authorization type, password-domain(depending of authorization type), the

server path you want user to have access to, transfer rate and finally type of server that the user accesses
• Host restrictions tab:you can perform ip filtering at this tab
• Virtual directories tab:create virtual folder name and path and afterwards click add to enter the real path
• Logging tab:create logs
• Online users tab:attend and disconnect option to connected users
